Woke up this morning to a balmy 12 degrees and the smell of coffee brewing!
We were 2 exits from our pick up place and Wal-Mart was on the agenda.
Today will be our first try at our new budget! Based on our past 3 months of information we budgeted $100 a week for groceries and we spent $98.79!!! Yes! We did it!
We have two major new year's resolutions, 1) stay on a budget and 2) the smoking thing. We are dead on track with both of them and we haven't strangled each other yet!
Arriving in Tomah, WI, the Con-Way parking lot looked like a winter wonderland. The snow in the picture is from scrapping the parking lot, but this is still a ton of snow. We dropped off our empty trailer and found our new trailer and we were back on the road... Fargo here we come!
Every trip is different and it holds different experiences... My "firsts" for this trip include... ice fishing, solid frozen bodies of water, and snow measured in feet!! Ice Fishing: The concept of walking or driving out on to a frozen lake, putting up an ice shanty, drilling a hole in the water and using an itsy-bitsy fishing pole to catch fish is intriguing to me! Don't know that I would want to do it but it looks like an interesting hobby.
This picture is of a lake, frozen lake... the sail boats and motor boats are dry docked on the shore line. A few miles further down the interstate there was a little village of ice fisherman set up. I couldn't get the camera quick enough, but it strikes me funny when you are crossing a bridge, look over to what is suppose to be water and see all these little shanty on the lake... not to mention the 4-wheeler running out to one of them. (you'll have to click on the picture to make it large enough to see the boats)
The weather and my nerves are improving somewhat...
